Tata Group

 Tata Group is a global conglomerate based in Mumbai, India, that operates in various industries, including steel, automotive, hospitality, information technology, and more. The company was founded in 1868 by Jamsetji Tata, who envisioned building a world-class industrial empire in India.

Jamsetji Tata was a visionary entrepreneur who established the first cotton textile mill in India in 1868, known as the Central India Spinning, Weaving and Manufacturing Company. He later renamed it as the Tata Textile Mills. In 1903, he set up the first integrated steel plant in India at Jamshedpur, which laid the foundation for the Tata Steel Company. He also founded the Tata Hydro-Electric Power Supply Company in 1910, which later became the Tata Power Company.

Jamsetji Tata was succeeded by his sons, Dorabji Tata and Ratanji Tata, who continued to expand the Tata Group's business interests in various industries. In 1932, Tata Airlines was established, which later became Air India, the national carrier of India. The group also ventured into the hospitality sector, with the opening of the iconic Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai in 1903.

After India gained independence from British rule in 1947, the Tata Group played a pivotal role in the nation-building process. Under the leadership of J.R.D. Tata, the company expanded its operations globally and diversified into new sectors like information technology and automobile manufacturing. Tata Motors was established in 1945, and today it is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world.
